tāhāra paraśa pāiyā

chi, chi, ki chāra, mānera lāgiyā,
bandhure hārāiyā chilām!

śyāmala sundara, rūpa manohara,
paraśe parāṇa pāilām
soi! juḍāilo mora hiyā!

torā sakhīgaṇa, korāho sināna,
āniyā yamunā nīre

āmāra bandhura, joto amańgala,
sakala jāuk dūre

śrī madhumańgale, āno kutūhole,
bhuñjāho odana dadhi

bańdhura kalyāṇe, deho nānā dāne,
āmāre sadaya vidhi

nija sukha rase, pāpinī paraśe,

TRANSLATION
(Refrain) Sakhi! My heart was soothed! When I got the touch of Syama’s body, which is like the cool breeze!

O, how disgusting! Because of My own pride I lost My lover!

I restored my life by the touch of Syamasundara, whose form is so enchanting!

You sakhis! Go and bathe and then bring water from the Yamuna!
