TRANSLATION
Refrain: Her body filled with pain, grief-stricken Radha has fallen, O Madhava, into the terrible darkness of separation from You.
-
Now that with beautiful sweet voices the cuckoos lament, “jaimini jaimini,”
-
When She sees a garland of blue lotuses She mistakes it for a black snake. Frightened, and the hairs of Her body erect, She cries out, “Garuda! Garuda!”
-
When She sees musk or aguru, the poor girl thinks the god of love has appeared. To chase him away She becomes rapt in meditation on love’s enemy, the peacock.
